Event Description

The Centre for Innovation in Carbon Capture and Storage run short courses to provide a fundamental understanding of carbon capture and storage (CCS) for people with various background disciplines including engineering, business and policy. Attendees are welcome from all sectors including consultancy, government and industry, and to all with an interest in CCS and its future deployment.

Our next short course will take place on the 10th and 11th of November, with Day 1 providing overall cross-disciplinary introductory training in the topical field of CCS, and Day 2 providing further technical details in CCS technologies, risks and regulations.

This cross-disciplinary short course; recommended as a two day short course, with the option of attending one day only; provides training in the topical field of CCS, covering wide ranging topics and issues to further understand this expanding climate change mitigation method. World leading experts speaking on this course include: Bronwen Northmore, Head of Cleaner Fossil Fuels Policy at the Department of Energy and Climate Change; Dr Andy Chadwick, Head of CO2 Storage Research at the British Geological Survey; Professor Mercedes Maroto-Valer, Director of CICCS at the University of Nottingham; and Dr Ian Havercroft, Lead Researcher for the University College London Legal Programme.
