Project Manager
What is your main geographic location?
Iran
Would you like to give some information about yourself - current projects, background, education, ambitions, what you are looking for (if anything) and so on?
I graduated in Chemical Engineering (BSc) and Energy Engineering (MSc) and start research about CCS during my MSc Course and finished my MSc in carbon dioxide capturing .I have been in energy industries for 10 years :3 years as news agency editor in chief,3 yeasr as procces engineer in general contractor,4 years in coumsulatnt company as procces designer, senior engineer and project manager .in last two years i leaded CCS project in my company as R&D project and was in touch with diferent stock holder same as national iranian oil company, environment organization,Energy ministry in Iran.recently we got some contract with environment organisation and National iranian oil company and i work as manager of these projects. In fact CCS is in first steps in iran and i tried to introduce benefits of CCS project to iranian stockholders but i hope and i am sure that CCS started in Iran now (R&D)and going to be started in performance and instalation too.As a matter of fact we would like, if there is mutual agreement, to develop joint partnerships in technological terms with other groups in developing such projects in larger scales in Iran and the CDM region for which Iran holds the permanent regional chairing position.
What is the role of your company?
Power company, oil and gas, research
Would you like to let us know your age range?
26-35
How long before 25% of power stations worldwide have carbon capture?
16-20 years
Do you think CCS will always need to be subsidised by government?
No but there will need to be a high carbon price

Hi Sir,
It will be my pleasure to share knowledge with you, if you are intrested in estimating co2 of different forest types i can send you differnt methodlogies, how to estimate soil and aboveground carbon. You can also cite my recently published paper in Carbon Balance and Management ( 2009 4: 6).

Hi Amir,
I am fine Sir, our activities on carbon capture and storage are different from your CCS activities. We are presently estmating the rate of carbon sequestration of different tree species and their capablities to store CO2. So that such tree species can be used for plantation in vast deagrded and barren land for plantation in India. Besides this we are also estimating the carbon Flux in India.

Dear Amir,

thanks for your interest in my research.

Industrial organization of the CCS chain will be main part of my research. In particular, I will try to model the profit maximizing behavior and interaction between potential storage operators, utilities and governments (not profit, but somehow utility maximizing behavior).

I have just started with the project and I still have to learn a lot about what is going on in the electricity industry. I believe, that, due to your experience, your understanding of the industry is really good. So if you have any suggestions, I would appreciate that. On the other hand, as soon as my project might become interesting, I could provide you with details.

Have a nice day.

Dominic

Hi Amir,

CCS can certainly contribute to making energy production more sustainable in Iran. Therefore, I believe, your project is very important. I am researching in economical aspects of CCS in central Europe. So maybe we can share some knowledge?

Regards,

Dominic

Hello Amir,

I just read ur profile. I think we can share some knowledge on this platform. CCS is an emerging technology that I think could be so useful to your country.

Hi Amir,
Thanks for your message! I'm from Saudi Arabia but currently a student in London, I am working on my PhD at Queen Mary, University of London and my research subject is directly related to CCS. How about you?
