Thank you for the interest in doing an Internship in Schlumberger. I see from your areas of interest that you have done some very interesting work in the areas of capture and pipeline network optimization. Schlumberger is currently involved in geoscientific work, which requires a G&G type specialization.
I wish you the best for your studies and best regards

I will like to see the reports, which will help me in working more over it. Till now I have work on Carbon capture in IGCC plant and succesfully simulated it, and in optimize the pipeline network for transport CO2 and now I want to work more over this field.
So nice to hear from you on the subject. I have just started gathering information on the subject and am finding so much on it. I am more interested in capture and transport part. The study of reservaior may not be my part. By the way, I have downloaded some good material includeing M. S / Ph. D repports. I am sure you would be having. Neverthless, let me know your e mail ID and I will send it across. My e mail ID is darshak_mehta@indiatimes.com.
As for me, I am a mechanical engineer from REC (Now NIT) Surat of 91 batch. I have worked on renewable energy, energy efficiency and CDM. In effect I have worked on two projects where CO2 capture was involved. One where a CO2 production facility was converted from diesel to biomass and another where afertilser plant was made to capture CO2 more efficiently. At present I am in technical support facility for CDM at Asia Development Bank in Philippines. I am pushing people here to work on CCS.
Best luck for your studies. Do let me know your ID and let me know the area of your work.
Regards,
Darshak

I have worked on various aspects of climate change through academic projects and foreign internships which has resulted in an international publications and filling US global patent. My focus has been on innovation and research in the field of “Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)”. I consider that the leadership on climate change requires an understanding of the situation, an acceptance of responsibility, a commitment to action, a well defined strategies and targets. Explict on CCS, I have worked on Carbon Capture pre-combustion technology with the association of University of Perugia, Italy and IIT Kharagpur, India. I have worked on a new mixed solvent with unique coupling carbon capture technology to remove CO2. Filling U.S. provisional patent with global protection rights. The research output resulted in a publication at International symposium of Rock Mechanics and Geo-environment, 09. I have also worked on the Cost and Power Optimized CO2 transport pipeline grid from sources to the storage site of the real life industrial data of the Italian Industries with research association with IIT Kharagpur, India, INGV, Italy and University of Perugia, Italy. The research output resulted in a international publication at World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology, 09. To complete the value chain over CCS in summer 09, I have worked with INERIS ( A risk assessment based consultancy firm, France). I have worked to develop a systematic and conceptual methodology of risk assesment on carbon storage aspect. Presently writing paper over the new methodology developed. More specific to climate change policy issues: I am the Member of 'Agents of Change' team that will represent Asian subcontinent youth, at the fifteenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention and the fifth Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP15 and COP/MOP5), which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from December 7-18, 2009.
What is the role of your company?
education
Would you like to let us know your age range?
under 26
How long before 25% of power stations worldwide have carbon capture?
16-20 years
Do you think CCS will always need to be subsidised by government?
